Ghost of Yotei (2025)

Position: Programmer

Ghost of Yotei, the standalone sequel to the 2020 game Ghost of Tsushima, follows Atsu on her quest for revenge against the outlaws who killed her family. Along her journey she acquires several new weapons and makes new allies.

Most of my contributions to Ghost of Yotei were gameplay- or tools-oriented. I built new editor and debug features; implemented location- and mission-specific mechanics; and debugged issues across many areas of the game. I frequently worked closely with designers, artists, animators, and other coders.

  • Lantern, Statue, and Rotate puzzles in Teshio Ridge
    • Modifications to rotate puzzles for reliquaries
  • Bo-hiya cannon initial setup, animation implementation, and debugging
  • NPC chatter in Yari sequence and archery minigame
  • Eavesdrop sequence in Ishikari Plain Sake House
  • Title-up cutscene triggers
  • Code support for end-of-mission banners, Charm of Mt. Yotei upgrades, and bonus spirit from cooking
  • Boundaries for holdable objects
  • Various armor and charm perks
